Here is a list of resources I will be using to help me in my library career
The Virginia Library association is an organization that offers so much to libraries in Virginia, from conferences, to job postings, committees and beyond! It offers forums to read as well, including one on diversity in graphic novels! VLA has so many things to offer, and is a very helpful asset to all librarians and libraries here in Virginia!

Jbrary is a delightful website for children’s librarians and elementary school librarians! It hosts blog posts assisting with ideas for puppetry, storytime picture book recommendations, and Lady Gaga, and that’s just the home page! I’ve read a few of the posts and they are lovely, and the posts are funny, heartwarming, and helpful!

Book Cart Queens is such a cool blog! I’ve been browsing the website and the entries and it’s so interesting to learn about their favorite books to read aloud to children, and I enjoyed finding some of my personal favorites among them! I also read some of their other blog entries, and I found them so helpful!

The Young Adult Library Services Association (YALSA) is a subsidiary of the American Library Association, specifically for librarians of young adults and children. Upon exploring the site, I found lots of resources that I will be utilizing in the very near future, including continuing education! I enjoyed seeing all those resources!

The School Library Journal (SLJ), is a professional web source with all sorts of information on subjects such as censorship, resources for the classroom, and so many other wonderful articles that I enjoyed looking at! My favorite was a booklist called “7 Titles to Share with Young Bibleophiles on Book Lovers Day”! I didn’t even know there was a Book Lovers Day!

Meet Me in the Media Center is such a wonderful TikTok account run by a middle school librarian named Jen Miller, in North Carolina. I adore this account, and her content was part of my inspiration to pursue my LIS degree in the first place! She has such fun with her students, and she seems to love her job and what she does! Plus, the Book Return Game is so much fun to watch!
